Your Privacy Matters
To Us!
Australian Cybermalls is strongly
committed to protecting the privacy of all our visitors We understand that
your privacy is important to you. It's just as important to us when
we surf the Net.
The purpose of publishing our
privacy policy is to outline exactly how we might gather information
about people who visit our sites, how that information is used, and our
disclosure practices.
You should note that this policy
applies only to Australian Cybermalls web sites, of course, and not
to the web sites of other companies or organizations to which we provide
links (each of whom have their own separate privacy policies and/or
practices). All the same,
we have a strict anti-spamming policy on our site and simply won't
tolerate anyone who uses this loathsome form of marketing.
Since one of the primary breaches
of privacy that can occur on the Net is the remarketing of email address
lists, you can at least be assured that neither Australian Cybermalls nor
any of our tenants will ever do this.
Site Usage
Information
Australian Cybermalls automatically
collects routine statistical information about all visitors to our sites
through our web server logs (the same as most other sites on the Net). These
logs do not identify individuals - only page displays, data transfers,
browser types and so forth.
We use this information to help
us determine general usage patterns and fine tune our designs in order to
make our sites as useful and enjoyable as we can. We make this traffic and
statistical information
publicly available
on our site.
NB: We don't control
all the HTML served in conjunction with our sites at all times. Australian
Cybermalls sites may include content from other parties that may perform
more detailed user activity tracking (eg: cookies).
However, all our hosted and
affiliate sites agree to the spirit of this policy, which is
simply that your trust should always be respected, not abused.
Cookies and
Adsense
Third parties - such as Google
AdSense - may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons
to collect information, while serving ads on Australian Cybermalls.
Here's how Google explains cookies:
"A 'cookie' is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent
to your computer when you visit a website. When you visit the website again,
the cookie allows that site to recognize your browser. Cookies may store
user preferences and other information. You can reset your browser to refuse
all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some website
features or services may not function properly without cookies."
Personal
Data
Visitors may be asked for
individually identifiable information when they sign up to use certain Australian
Cybermalls services (such as our email newsletter which - naturally - asks
for a valid email address) or when ordering products or services from one
of our merchants.
And in some instances - on some
sites - visitors may be asked for personal interest and demographic information
in order to create a more personalised user experience (eg: creating a customised
front end or service on a site by using cookies to store your preferences
from one visit to the next).
Australian Cybermalls will
not release any individually identifiable data that might be collected
in this way without the affected individual's prior consent.
In other words, if you've ever
passed your email address or some other information to us, we regard it as
private and confidential. No-one else will ever see it without your knowledge
and informed written consent.
If you believe that your privacy
has been breached by using our site,
we want to hear about
it and we'll take prompt action on the matter.
